OUR HISTORY
Reaching the Unreached with Purpose
Western Honduras Ministries is a family-based Christian mission founded by missionaries Victor and Virgilia Almendarez, serving the rural communities of Western Honduras since 1996.
What began with church planting and pastoral training in remote mountain villages has grown into a broader ministry that now includes prison outreach, child sponsorship, youth discipleship, and community development.

We exist to make Christ known where He is least known — strengthening local churches, equipping leaders, and walking alongside communities with both the Gospel and practical care.

Today, the ministry serves across three departments of Western Honduras — some of the most underserved and impoverished regions of the country — and by God’s grace more than 60 churches have been planted throughout the region.

All missionaries serve under the accountability and covering of Missions Door, through whom financial support and partnership are made possible.
