Pastor Selvin Vega serves in Dulce Nombre de Copán, Honduras, a region widely known for its coffee production. Every year, hundreds of workers and their families travel to the area during the coffee harvest season, creating unique opportunities to share the hope of Jesus Christ with people from many different communities.

Through evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development, Selvin is helping raise up new believers and future ministry leaders who can reach surrounding villages with the Gospel. His vision is not only to see people come to faith in Christ but also to equip them to become disciples who make disciples and leaders who help establish healthy local churches.

God is already working through outreach efforts in communities such as Plan Grande, where individuals have placed their faith in Christ and children are regularly being taught God’s Word. These ministries are opening doors for long-term relationships and continued Gospel impact throughout the region.

A Journey of Faith

Selvin accepted Christ as his Savior in 1998 and faithfully served in his local church for many years. As he grew in his relationship with the Lord, God began to shape his heart for ministry and for reaching people who had little access to biblical teaching and discipleship.

His wife, Carolina, also came to faith in Christ and became actively involved in serving her church while working as a teacher. Together, they developed a passion for helping others know Christ and grow in their faith.

In 2014, God clearly led Selvin and Carolina to leave the comfort of city life and move to the mountains of western Honduras. There they began the challenging but rewarding work of evangelism, discipleship, leadership training, and church planting among communities that often lacked strong evangelical churches.

Making Disciples Who Make Disciples

Today, Selvin and Carolina continue to invest their lives in helping people grow spiritually and become faithful followers of Christ. Their ministry focuses on teaching God’s Word, mentoring believers, training leaders, and strengthening local churches so they can effectively reach their own communities.

One of the greatest joys of ministry is seeing lives transformed by the Gospel. A recent highlight was witnessing 16 individuals publicly declare their faith in Jesus through baptism inside a local prison. Moments like these serve as powerful reminders that God’s grace can reach anyone, regardless of their circumstances, and that the Gospel continues to change lives throughout Honduras.

As the ministry grows, Selvin remains committed to expanding outreach efforts, strengthening discipleship programs, and helping establish new churches in areas where the Gospel is still needed.
