Pastor Jose Pineda was born and raised in the indigenous community of El Limón, Gracias, Honduras. Before coming to Christ, his life was marked by drug use, sinful living, and a lack of purpose. At the age of 19, in 2009, God radically changed his life. During a service at his local church, where his father was serving as pastor, Jose heard the message of repentance and the forgiveness found in Jesus Christ. Convicted by the Holy Spirit, he surrendered his life to Christ and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior.

Today, Pastor Jose serves in church planting and discipleship ministry throughout the mountains of western Honduras. He is passionate about reaching unreached communities with the Gospel, often traveling to remote villages under difficult conditions. Much of his ministry travel is done by motorcycle, navigating steep mountain roads, muddy trails, rivers, and rough terrain in order to reach isolated communities with the message of Christ. Whether crossing rivers, riding through heavy rain, or traveling long distances on his motorcycle, he remains committed to sharing the Gospel wherever God opens a door.

While some communities have welcomed the Gospel with open hearts, others have rejected the message and opposed the work. Yet these challenges have only strengthened his commitment to reach those who have never heard the Good News.

One of the blessings God has allowed him to witness is the establishment of a church in the community of Llano Verde, Honduras, where there had never been an evangelical church building before. Through the faithful proclamation of the Gospel, discipleship, and ongoing ministry, a new congregation was established and a church building was constructed to serve the community.

In addition to church planting, Pastor Jose focuses on training new believers and developing future leaders. He identifies and disciples faithful men and women, equipping them to serve in ministry and helping them learn how to start new churches in surrounding communities. He is also part of the teaching team of the West Biblical Institute by Extension, where he works alongside missionary Victor Almendarez and other leaders to train pastors from across the region. Furthermore, he oversees a network of churches, providing encouragement, support, and pastoral care.

Jose shares, “I am motivated to carry out the Gospel because there are still many people who do not know Jesus Christ. As the Scriptures say, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.’ My vision is to see church multiplication networks established throughout the mountains where God has called me to serve, so that more people may come to know Christ and grow in their faith.”

Through every challenge and opportunity, Pastor Jose remains committed to proclaiming the Gospel, making disciples, strengthening churches, and advancing God's Kingdom throughout Honduras.
